Looking For Java Apps? (10/14)

By RICHARD KARPINSKI

So you've downloaded Hot Java or Netscape Navigator 2.0 -- where is all
the groundbreaking ``Java-ized'' content you have been hearing about?
Web surfers seeking an answer to that question can now turn to Gamelan
(http://www.gamelan.com ), an online guide to Java applications
developed by Web design house EarthWeb.
The Gamelan site, which has an endorsement from Java creator Sun
Microsystems, can be viewed using any Web browser. But the hundreds of
Java programs Gamelan indexes require a Java-enabled browser for
viewing. Right now, that is limited to Sun's Hot Java, available at
http://www.sun.com , and Netscape Navigator 2.0, available at
http://home.netscape.com .
EarthWeb develops Web sites for companies including The Metropolitan
Museum of Art, Fashion Internet, The David Letterman Top Ten List,
Coopers & Lybrand, The Smithsonian and many others.
